When our company was founded many years ago, we established our very first office in Aberdeen. Due to this fact and the fact that all of the founding linguists from that time are still members of our organisation, Aberdeen is looked upon by us as our ‘alma mater’. All these years later, although we now have offices worldwide, Aberdeen is our operational and administrative base, as well as being the regional office controlling translation services for Scotland, Ireland and northern England.
Aberdeen itself is an ancient and Royal Town; it was founded as a Royal Brugh in 1124 and has subsequently had a long seafaring history particularly one of vibrant trade with Scandinavia and the Low Countries. Such was Aberdeen’s naval prominence, in fact, that in the late 19th century (the age of the famous sea clippers), the City became a prominent international trade and shipping centre.
Because of its cosmopolitan nature, it was probably always inevitable that Aberdeen should be linked to other countries, cultures and languages and so we like to think that our presence in the City as a translations services company resonates very nicely with Aberdeen’s long and historic past.
